Overnight care for your newborn so you can get the sleep you need? Yes please!
Night Nurses
Newborns are demanding little creatures who run 24/7, meaning broken nights and drowsy days for us parents. If you’re running on empty and need some help to get through the night, a night nurse is the hero you’ve been holding out for.
Non-judgmental support throughout the night
Night nurses go by different names – night nannies, overnight nannies, night time nannies, newborn or infant care consultants. And they all offer parents unending patience and non-judgmental support through the dark and difficult hours of the night.
Fairy godmothers of sleep
Night nurses are like fairy godmothers. They come to your home just when you need them most and stay for a night, several weeks or even months to help establish routines and settling techniques that ensure all your sleep wishes come true.
Overnight care and advice
A night nurse will:
- establish positive sleeping patterns and routines
- assist with breast or bottle feeding
- advise on when and how to drop night feeds
- share tips and tricks for getting babies to sleep through the night ASAP
- help set up the nursery to foster healthy safe sleeping habits
- educate about sleep safety, wrapping, settling and more…
On this site, we have several types of night nurses and overnight nannies so you can pick the perfect fit for you. Typically they:
- are newborn/infant care qualified
- have newborn/infant experience
- work mostly with infants 0-6 months of age but can offer overnight care of older children too
- are available for 8hr shifts (minimum)
- work mostly between 7pm to 7am
- can be booked for casual shifts (once off or irregular) or fixed-term contracts (set nights for multiple weeks/months)
Not what you need? Perhaps a maternity nurse or day nanny would be a better fit.
